The process of scripting, shooting and editing is carried out by a team of 5 producers who are slum residents from across the city.
Rehana: In her 30s. MA B.Ed in Urdu. Muslim. Her family was forced to flee from a mob of more than 5000 during the 2002 riots. Their home, her certificates, and a lifetime of savings were destroyed. Saath initiated a relief project in riot-affected areas, and Rehana was hired to teach a pre-school class there. She later became a field worker for the MFI and then a producer for Samvad. She is determined to leave sad memories behind and strive to make a difference through the power of media. 
Mo.Zuber: In his 40s. Edu 6th std. Muslim. The father of 3 sons, he previously worked as a scooter mechanic to make ends meet. He was always socially involved in development processes in his community and came in contact with Saath in 2002 while volunteering in the camps of riot affected victims. He believes that the community video unit can do a lot to change the lives of people, not only in his area but also across the city.
Tarun: In his 20s. Edu: 9th std. Hindu. Since dropping out of school he joined a theatre group, Samvedan Cultural Group, participating in street plays, stage shows and acting in small parts in serials at Doordarshan. He jumped at the opportunity to learn more about the medium of video because he knows that it will help him achieve his dreams. 
Sofia: In her 20s. Edu: 12th std (Open Univ). Muslim. She went through a tumultuous childhood and was shifted from house to house as her parents broke up and both remarried. She even had to eke out a living distributing milk and selling kerosene etc as a child. Now she is married, has 2 sons and is passionate about her work; she wants to give a voice to people like her.
Nimesh: In his 20s. Edu 11th std. Hindu. On the sudden death of his father, the family had to migrate to Ahmedabad in search of livelihood. The burden of contributing to the family income made him drop out school and seek a living. As a producer, he is amazed by the power of Samvad, which has brought him out of his earlier dejection and provided a meaning to his life. Now editing films is his forte.
