On March 20, 2010 Samvad held an event to thank and honour those within the community who provided support to the organization over the last 3 years.

Ek Paglu Navi Disha Taraf (Livelihoods for youth):- Highlights opportunities for vulnerable and lower income groups to improve their economic standing, including Saath's livelihood training program for youth, ''UMEED.''

Aapno Samvad Ekta Par(Communal Harmony) Discusses religious tension in the context of Diwali and Ramzan holidays, which fell upon the same dates in 2006.

Amne Khilva Do

Playgrounds in Urban Slums. In a summer workshop, children were taught filmmaking techniques and then scripted and shot their own video magazine about the lack of playgrounds in their communities.

Samvad Interviews Families About Issue of Child Labor

Last week, Samvad producers ventured out around Ahmedabad, to interview children who have stopped going to school, so that they can work to support their families.



The children are engaged in a variety of professions- from bricklaying to printing invitations, homemaking, tending tea stalls or shoe shops, and making kites.


Samvad producers also spoke with parents, about why their children are working. The interviews will be featured in Samvad's upcoming film on the use of child labor. Stay tuned for more!
